Seminar for Pastors and Bible Workers: South Brazilian Union

May 25, 2016
Pastors and Bible workers assembled to consider methods and ways to spread the truth in the South Brazilian Union.

On May 17, 2016, an important seminar for pastors and Bible workers began in the South Brazilian Union. The theme of the seminar was "Prepared to Serve," and the brethren gathered together at the union headquarters in the city of Itu, São Paulo, Brazil, where the seminar took place.

On that Tuesday morning, the event organizers welcomed the 150 missionaries working in the southern part of Brazil. Shortly thereafter, Pastor Rômulo Borges, the General Conference Regional Secretary for South America, presented the topic of the sacred vocation of taking the present truth to all the world—and in this case, the territory of the South Brazilian Union. On the following Sunday, the brethren attended a lecture given by Brother Dorval Fagundes, the Editor-in-Chief of the SDARM Publishing House in Brazil (A Verdade Presente), in which he spoke on the valuable tool of communication, explaining why the proper and correct use of language is incredibly important. The Union President, Brother Aroldo Gessner, brought the seminar to a close with an appeal to the missionaries to consecrate their lives and work to the Lord and by thanking the brethren for their presence.

The seminar began on Tuesday morning—and by the time the meetings ended at noon on the following Sunday, we were reminded of how much God wishes and expects His missionaries to give their best in the field. The appeal was made for each of us to push ourselves daily in order for the gospel to be delivered to all parts of the world, thus hastening Jesus' coming.

We request prayers, not only for the work being done in the South Brazilian Union but also for the work being done on an international scale, that all our missionaries may be courageous and valuable soldiers of hope in a world where all seek peace and trust.
