"We do not grow weary in doing good; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not, "Galatians 6: 9.
The Ecuadorian Union was recently blessed with the visit of Pastor Abel Morales from Italy, who was present to conduct a seminar on Nutrition and Health from August 17-21. The seminar was held in the auditorium of the Ecuadorian Union located in the city of Santo Domingo. The same seminar was presented a few days later on August 24-27 in the Coloma Suite Hotel on the Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos archipelago. An average of 60 health professionals from different areas of health, as well as individuals interested in improving their eating habits, attended each seminar. In Santo Domingo the seminar was during the morning and afternoon, while in Santa Cruz, it was held at night.
Topics presented included:
Why are we sick? Part I and II
Physiology and Biochemistry of digestion. Part I and II
Atherogenesis and Cholesterolemia. Part I and II
Kynesiotherapy I and II
Power Nutrigenomics and Nutrigenetics. Part I and II
Socially Accepted Narcotics
The Nutraceutical Revolution Medicine
Biological Effects of Oxygen Therapy
The Great Complement of Modern Medicine. Part I and II
Attendees were able to understand the importance of a good lifestyle, based not only on vegetarianism and fine food, but also the importance of physical exercise and how our food can become a method of preventing diseases afflicting humanity, especially among the population of this island.
SANTO DOMINGO
In Santo Domingo, some attendees had the opportunity to engage in physiotherapy every morning from 5:45 to 7:00. This was very encouraging and of great benefit. The vegetarian food provided for the event produced a favorable effect and motivated participants to delve deeper into this lifestyle. Pastor Abel Morales addressed current health issues and gave answers to the questions presented. Participants were very happy with the ideas and subjects discussed.
GALAPAGOS
The work on Santa Cruz Island is progressing. A brief cooking class was held, during which Pastor Morales prepared healthy, tasty, and vitamin and mineral rich dishes, combining international cuisine and vegetarianism. Attendees greatly enjoyed the dishes and appreciated the class.
In addition to this, Pastor Morales gave free consultations to attendees on different days after each talk.
On Sabbath, Brother Morales, Brother Romulo Borges (GC South American Regional Secretary), and Brother Jimmy Choez (Ecuadorian Union Bible Worker) met at the home of Brother Pablo Merchan, where they held a Sabbath School with various interested souls. Divine Worship was led by Pastor Romulo Borges on the topic"The Restoration of Diet."
Thirty contacts were established as a result of the seminar, with whom we have made a commitment to deliver printed material on the subject of health and to visit them in their homes. These individuals expressed their desire to attend other seminars in Santa Cruz, and to continue hearing from us.
We honor and praise God for these blessings and we pray that many souls are reached for the kingdom of God through the right arm of the Third Angel's Message: "the Health Reform."
Your Brother in the blessed hope,
Israel Mauro O. Báez
