October 1 is a day dedicated to music and musicians and was named "International Music Day" by the International Music Council. Thus, on October 1, 2016, our churches around the world had the opportunity to participate in a special Sabbath dedicated to music and musicians prepared by the General Conference Music Committee. Our brethren in Quito, Ecuador participated with the sermon and study prepared by the GC Music Committee, and with several praise items.
Brother Israel Báez, the Music Department Director of the Ecuadorian Union delivered the following topics: "True Worship" during the Divine Service and "The musician and his life with God" for the afternoon study.
The Sabbath was also special as it marked a change in leadership. The Ecuadorian Union Vice-President, Brother Joffre Salvador, officially presented Brother Ernesto Barahona as the new pastor of the local field. Brother Ernesto and his wife, Sister Nelly, were kindly received by local the congregation.
It was a blessed Sabbath full of music and praise. May we remember to praise God in everything we do.
