TRUJILLO–The Spring Harmonies Music School began on Monday, January 16, 2017 in Trujillo, Peru. The special event brought together musicians from all over Latin America for a week of learning, practicing, and growing their talents. Between orchestra and choir, there were approximately 150 musicians present during the week.
Representing the General Conference Music Committee were Brother Marcos Pedrazes (Committee Chairman), Brother Isaac Terceros, and Sister Barbara Montrose (Committee members). After a week of preparation, the orchestra and choir put on a free concert in the city's beautiful municipal theater on Sabbath evening, January 21, 2017. Invitations to the evening concert were well distributed, spread even via TV.
The outcome was a blessed evening of sacred music with approximately 500 individuals attending. Videos streamed live at the concert can be found on the Facebook page for Peru's SDARM Music Department.
The music school ended on Sunday, January 22, 2017 with certificates being given to each musician for his or her participation in the program.
May God bless everyone involved at the music school, from organizers to participants and their families, as well as those touched by the concert.
