On the 28th of October, in our church of Savigny-sur-Orge near Paris (France), Brother Cicero Barros and Brother Marcos Gonçalves Dias received the blessing of being ordained as ministers of the French field.
Brethren from all over the French field (France, Belgium, and Switzerland) fellowshipped together at the event. Even brethren from Portugal joined us.
The presence of our Lord was felt throughout the whole ceremony and a spirit of reverence was richly manifested.
Five ministers were present at this solemn event, Brethren Davi P. Silva, Peter D. Lausevic, Ferry Mathyas, Edson Meireles, and Jean-Paul Parpaillon.
Brother Lausevic started the ceremony with a sermon about the purpose of ministerial ordination and the verse from Titus 1:5, "For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee."
Brother Silva spoke about love and the completion of God’s law, and Brother Meireles gave a word of advice to the newly ordained ministers.
At noon, a fellowship lunch was served. All the participants joined together in wonderful moments of joy and communion with one another. All of the guests were grateful for the blessing of being together.
Heartfelt thanks were given by the two brethren ordained, especially to their own families for the support given and to all the people that were by their side throughout the years of their ministry in God's vineyard.
We hope the ceremony brought encouragement to every soul that was present, especially the youth, to respond to God’s call.
May His Word speak to each and every person reading this news so that more and more people may be encouraged to join in His mission. May God’s grace accompany the two brethren that were called to this broader spiritual responsibility!
