Ciudad del Este, Paraguay—From January 18-22, 2019, the Paraguay Mission was held in Ciudad del Este, the border between Brazil and Paraguay. We were 220 volunteers from Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, and California. Special mention must be made of the volunteers from Argentina, which included the Union officers, Bible workers, and all the Missionary School students from the Union Sud Americana. The caravan of volunteers coming from São Paulo was formed by two buses, with the presence of the Canto Nobre Choir. The caravan from Curitiba brought another bus of volunteers.
On Sabbath, January 19, we spread out in the streets of Ciudad del Este and distributed around 5,000 flyers and invitations to our mission which would begin the following day. By the Lord's grace, we began our activities on Sunday with the presence of more than 300 individuals that day.
At the end of the three days, among the 14 services we were offering to the community, we had the pleasure of serving around 1,400 people. It was a lot of work, but also a lot of joy. Two-hundred and sixty-one people signed up to receive Bible studies and 400 Bibles, as well as a large number of books and magazines, were distributed as a result of the contacts we had with the community during those days.
We have many young people from our church who are studying medicine in Ciudad del Este, and during the mission they had the opportunity to truly experience what it is to be a missionary doctor, accompanying several professionals which were on site.
On January 23, we had the special privilege of visiting a beauty that is considered to be one of the seven wonders of the world today: the Iguazu Falls. It is impossible to see this beauty and not exalt the name of God for its greatness. After all, as David said, "the heavens proclaim the glory of God and the firmament announce His handiwork..."
Indeed all who participated in this event felt extremely grateful to God for so many blessings. We ask the brethren to pray for our young people who study medicine in that country, to pray for those who have accepted to study our message, and for the missionaries who will be attending these souls at home. And as the young people here say at the end of the work, "Bring on more missions!"
