HIDALGO, MEXICO—On May 14, 2017, an inauguration ceremony was held at our missionary school, Reform Bible Institute J. N. Andrews, in Progreso de Obregón, Hidalgo, Mexico. The class of 2017-2018 will be the seventh class to graduate from our missionary school in Mexico, and they will have the opportunity to be the first to study in the brand new building.

Before the conquest of Jericho, God gave specific instructions to His people regarding the battle and the spoils. Since the victory belonged to the Lord, the spoils should also be consecrated to Him: “All the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the Lord: they shall come into the treasury of the Lord” (Joshua 6:19). But Achan, of the tribe of Judah, had developed a greedy character, and when he stood before those treasures (gold, silver, and Babylonian garments), he was overcome with a strong temptation.
NEW WASHINGTON, PHILIPPINES—From April 26 to May 7, 2017, a National Youth Convention was held in New Washington, Aklan, Philippines. The theme of the event was "Making God Known". The guest speakers for the event were Brother Rolly Dumaguit (GC 2nd Vice President and Regional Secretary for the Pacific Region) and Brother Radu Ionita (GC Youth Department Director).
Alcohol comes in four different forms: methyl, propyl, butyl, and ethyl. The first three forms can cause death even in small doses. The latter, ethyl or ethanol, is found in alcoholic beverages and is distilled from fermenting grain and fruits. Whether it’s wine, beer, or spirits, alcohol is the most accepted and abused drug in the world. It affects millions of people, young and old alike. Eight teens die daily in DUI crashes and more people were killed by alcohol consumption last year than from overdoses of heroin and prescription painkillers combined.
