On the weekend of August 5th through 7th, a group of 25 young people spent the weekend together in nature studying and discussing important topics on the theme of “Overcoming the World”. Pastor David Zic, Br. Serban Ionita, and Br. Jordan Chapman presented the studies and led the discussions on each study. The studies presented dealt with our great need of conversion in today’s world of social media distractions. The beautiful setting offered a wonderful meeting area, as all the studies were done outdoors in the Grand Canyon National Park. Our last study done by Br. Jordan Chapman was unique because it was held on the edge of the magnificent Grand Canyon at sunset. The young people and adults who attended felt very inspired and blessed as they marveled at God’s creation and realized their need of true conversion.
A highlight of the weekend was listening to the “B4 the Throne” quartet singing on a rock out on the edge of the canyon. The view was breathtaking and the sound carried wonderfully throughout the area on the edge of the canyon, with no need of any amplification except nature itself! Many people stopped to listen and watch as they were walking past, and at the conclusion of each song they showed their appreciation. We praise God for the talent he has given these young men, and pray that they continue to use it to spread the gospel.
