MONTIJO, PORTUGAL—On December 18, 2016, the Sacred Voice Choir held its first benefit cantata at a local school. The event was held in partnership with DAR, the SDARM Welfare Department branch in Portugal. The entry fee for the event was one kilogram of non-perishable food items which were received by DAR and donated to those in need.
Pastor Hilton Castro was given an opportunity to speak during the event and deliver a message to the audience. On their way out, audience members were thanked with a special gift—a book bundle with EGW's books like Finding Peace Within.
The choir has was recently formed, but its partnership with DAR (which has been active since 2013) has been steady. Events like concerts and visits to nursing homes bring musicians and welfare volunteers together to spread joy and Christian love to their community.
May God bless the work done by the choir and welfare department workers, that the seeds they spread through song and hope can bring forth fruit for the Lord's vineyard.
