ODENTON, MARYLAND—The 2018 Cherry Blossom Bible Conference was held on April 6-8, 2018 in Odenton, Maryland (greater Baltimore area).
Every year, the Temple Hills church hosts a Bible conference around the time when the ornamental cherry trees in the Washington, DC area (the capital of the United States) bloom. This year, it was held on the weekend of April 6-8. The theme for the conference was “The Power of the Gospel”, based on Romans 1:16, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."
On Friday night, Brother Melnychuk shared what it means to be living the Gospel as individuals and practical ways in which each Christian can share the gospel. Then, on Sabbath, Brother Tudoroiu took explained how to live the gospel as a church, emphasizing the power of the Gospel and its value. This year, missionary school student, Brother Esteban Castellano from Columbia, participated as a speaker at the conference and asked everyone the straightforward question: Are you ashamed of the Gospel? He gave the reminder that we are NOT to be ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of salvation. Brother Tudoroiu concluded the conference by discussing practical ways to live out the Gospel in the family. He touched on practical aspects of a Christian family and how parents can help raise future missionaries using Bible principles.
We thank the Lord our God for having so mercifully blessed the conference, and we thank all our friends and visitors that could attend and share the blessing.
