Effective mission is based on effective preparation. By God’s grace, the SDARM provides missionary training in various locations around the world and in various languages. Each of these programs seeks to fulfill the opening steps of the Gospel Commission to “Go … and teach all nations ... Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.” In order to fulfill this commission we must “rightly train” those who will enter into the mission work. “With such an army of workers as our youth, RIGHTLY TRAINED, might furnish, how soon the message of a crucified, risen, and soon-coming Saviour might be carried to the whole world!”—Ellen G. White, Education, p. 271.
The work of sharing the present truth is in need of you! "Time is short. Workers for Christ are needed everywhere. There should be one hundred earnest, faithful laborers in home and foreign mission fields where now there is one. The highways and the byways are yet unworked. Urgent inducements should be held out to those who ought now to be engaged in missionary work for the Master.”—Ellen G. White, Fundamentals of Christian Education, p. 488.
But this opportunity to be trained for service is not limited to those entering the full-time mission work. Everyone can benefit from training to be effective in service. Imagine the great potential for mission service we would have if everyone in your local church took the opportunity to be trained for service! For this reason, our training programs are open to all, not only to those who will be entering the call to full-time mission service. “It has been proved in the missionary field, that, whatever may be the preaching talent, if the laboring part is neglected, if the people are not taught how to work, how to conduct meetings, how to act their part in missionary labor, how to reach people successfully, the work will be nearly a failure. There is much to be done in the Sabbath school work also, in bringing the people to realize their obligation and to act their part. God calls them to work for Him, and the ministers should guide their efforts.”—Ellen G. White, Testimonies for the Church, vol. 5, p. 256.
Please explore the opportunities close to you for mission training. The Lord is opening the way for you right now to be an effective witness of Present Truth.
One educational mission opportunity that is coming up shortly will be offered in the English language on the Moriah Heights campus in rural Northern California. This will be a unique accelerated program that allows students to be fully immersed in a missionary school program but have it concluded within three months instead of two years. This program allows students to finish faster and be prepared to enter the mission field as workers and lay missionaries by the middle of next year! The program runs from February 16 to May 22, 2020.
A wide variety of instructors have been assembled to teach during the course of this accelerated program, including Pr. Eli Tenorio (GC President), Pr. Peter Lausevic (Regional Secretary for North America), Pr. Liviu Tudoroiu (GC Secretary), Pr. Adrian Finaru (GC Youth Director), Pr. David Zic (GC Education Director), Pr. John Baer (GC Medical Director), Pr. Jorai Cruz (President, Western US Union), Pr. David Lopez (President, Northern California Conference), Pr. Julian Utupanu (Youth Director, Western US Union), Pr. Walter Lukic (President, East Canadian Field), Pr. Darvin Lopez (President, Nevada Conference), Danny Balbach (Missionary Director, Western US Union), and Jordan Chapman (Secretary, Northern California Conference). Additional instructors will be confirmed shortly. Each one of these instructors is committed to preparing you for effective usefulness in the Lord’s service. The program covers the topics necessary to prepare someone for mission service and the ability to explain to others the doctrines found in the message of Present Truth. You can find a detailed description at https://campus.plymouthcollege.us. This is also where you can apply to the program.
The program is intentionally designed to fit under the regular time of a US travel visa to ensure that those coming from abroad will have the easiest possibility to attend the program, and those coming from visa waiver countries will not need to apply for any type of student visa.
This is your opportunity to be fitted for service. Do not neglect to take it.
