Poem
Doubt Not
Eliza H. Morton

O ye who doubt the word of God, give ear.

That word is spirit, truth, and life—and near;

Say not you never felt its wondrous power;

It works upon your heart this day, this hour.

Its voice is sweet, and from the throne above

It woos with tones of tenderness and love.

Resistance brings but darkness and despair;

Tread softly, friend, of unbelief beware.

Accept the truth, and with the heart obey,

And light will shine unto the perfect day.

Oh, glory, glory, what a flood of peace

When faith comes in and gives the soul release!
