In times of trouble . . . God’s trusting child may say:
First, God brought me here. It is by His will that I am in this difficult place. In that I will rest.
Next, He will keep me here in His love and give me grace in this trial to behave as His child.
Then, He will make the testing a blessing, teaching me lessons He intends for me to learn and work in me the grace He intends to give.
Last, In His good time, He can bring me out again—how and when He knows.
Say:
I am here
1. By God’s appointment
2. In His care
3. Under His training
4. For His time.
“A life of monotony is not the most conducive to spiritual growth. Some can reach the highest standard of spirituality only through a change in the regular order of things. When in His providence God sees that changes are essential for the success of the character-building, He disturbs the smooth current of the life. He sees that a worker needs to be more closely associated with Him; and to bring this about, He separates him from friends and acquaintances.”—Gospel Workers, pp. 269, 270.
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee” (Isaiah 26:3).
“And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me” (Psalm 50:15).
